Project
Students were asked to create a 6 step, 4 panel booklet with instructions to an activity if their choice. I went with a cheeky approach to a beach day featuring illustrations of my partner and I in a stylized way.
Research
I love color palettes that reply on analogous colors, so I went with a lot of warm colors, and then included blue for the water. I was heavily inspired by retro and vaporwave styles.
Process
I story boarded my layout, mapping out colors and poses to inform end decisions. I then made more detailed sketches and fully rendered digital paintings for all of my six pieces plus the cover and back page.
Result
I laid out the 8 panels front and back to print into a booklet. Overall, I really enjoyed this process (even though it took me about 4 hours per panel on average) and I am proud of the final result.
